What is Rose Water?
Rose water is an aqueous distillate (hydrolate) from fresh petals of the Damascena rose. It contains volatile and aromatic substances from roses that are soluble in water. Due to its strong antibacterial properties, rose water does not need to be stabilized with any preservatives, even though it is a pure aqueous solution without alcohol.
Rose water is an excellent hypoallergenic toner with cleansing and toning effects on all skin types. It maintains the skin's pH, stimulates regenerative processes, has anti-inflammatory effects on acne and excessive sun exposure, and keeps the skin smooth and elastic. Its soothing properties are also useful for eye compresses for tired eyes and drooping eyelids. It is also suitable for cosmetic facial massage.
USE: Can be used as a compress after sun exposure or skin irritation, and for cleansing the skin. Moisten a cotton pad with rose water and tone the skin of the face, neck and décolleté, or apply to the affected area. After cleansing with rose water, the skin is ready for day or night cream.
