Buffalo Milk Kashkaval by Madjarov (Димитър Маджаров) is a premium Bulgarian yellow cheese made from 100% buffalo milk, crafted to the highest Bulgarian dairy standard (BDS). Kashkaval is one of the most iconic cheeses of the Balkans and Eastern Europe — a semi-hard, stretched-curd cheese with a smooth, elastic texture and a rich, deeply flavourful character.

Buffalo milk gives this kashkaval an exceptional richness and creaminess that sets it apart from cow's milk varieties. The higher fat content results in a more intense, buttery flavour with a distinctive depth that cheese lovers and professional chefs particularly appreciate.

Crafted using traditional methods that have been passed down for generations — the milk is gently heated, the curd stretched and kneaded, then formed into wheels and matured to develop the signature golden rind and complex flavour profile.

Flavour & texture

Rich, creamy, and deeply flavourful with a smooth, slightly elastic texture. More intense and buttery than cow's milk kashkaval, with a pleasant mild tanginess. The rind is firm and golden-yellow. Flavour deepens and becomes nuttier with age.
