What is widely known as "Greek yoghurt" is in fact inspired by the original Bulgarian strained yoghurt tradition. Greeks use authentic Bulgarian yoghurt technology and the same key bacterial culture — Lactobacillus Bulgaricus — to produce their yoghurt, which closely resembles the Bulgarian original. The true source of this thick, probiotic-rich yoghurt is Bulgaria, where Lactobacillus Bulgaricus was first discovered and where it thrives naturally in the mountain environment.

Mandra Madjarov is a traditional Bulgarian dairy producer from the Stara Planina region. Only fresh raw milk and selected authentic starter cultures are used — no preservatives, no thickeners, no powdered milk.
